Attorney email signature examples

Edit it to match your firm's wording, then paste it under your signature in your email app's signature settings.

What to include

What to put in a lawyer email signature

  1. Your name

    Add Esq. only if you are licensed to practice. Use one of Esq. or J.D., not both.

  2. Title and practice area

    Partner, Associate or Of Counsel, plus your practice area so people know what you handle.

  3. Firm name and address

    Your firm, and the office address if your firm lists it.

  4. Bar admissions

    For example, Admitted in NY and NJ. It tells clients where you can act for them.

  5. A direct line

    One number that reaches you, not the main switchboard.

  6. A confidentiality notice

    Two short lines in small text, pasted under the signature in your email app. Keep it brief so it doesn't bury your details.

  7. Your contact card

    Link your ConnectMachine card so clients can save your details in one tap.

  • Taglines that read like legal advice
  • Several logos or award badges
  • More than one phone number

Add it to your email

Add your signature to Gmail, Outlook or Apple Mail

  1. Copy the finished signature from the generator.
  2. Gmail: Settings, See all settings, then Signature on the General tab. Paste it and set it as the default for new emails and replies.
  3. Outlook: Settings, then Accounts, then Signatures. Paste it into a new signature and choose when to use it.
  4. Apple Mail: Settings, Signatures, then pick your account and paste it.
